Who we are / Quienes Somos
The T.G.A. was founded in 1950 by a group of Panamanian and American citizens who were interested in developing English language theatre in Panama. Our productions run the gamut of the theatrical spectrum – from modern, controversial dramas, to comedies and family entertainment, to musicals. Our stage has been the first step for performers such as Patricia Quinn (The Rocky Horror Picture Show) Robert Loggia (Jagged Edge, Big) and Ruben Blades, and for successful directors such as Bruce Quinn and Hannia Woodman. The Theatre Guild of Ancon is now the longest running theatre in Panama (with the closing of the National Theatre of Panama in late 2015).

El T.G.A. fue fundado en 1950 por un grupo de ciudadanxs Panameñxs y Estadounidences con interés en desarrollar teatro en el idioma inglés en Panamá. Nuestras producciones cubren toda gama del espectro teatral – desde moderno, dramas controversiales, comedias y entretenimiento familiar, hasta musicales. Nuestro escenario ha sido el primer paso para intérpretes como Patricia Quinn, Robert Loggia y Rubén Blades; y también para directorxs como Bruce Quinn y Hannia Woodman. El Teatro Guild de Ancón es ahora la sala teatral con mayor cantidad de años en funcionamiento (con el cierre del Teatro Nacional en el 2015).

The T.G.A. is the only voluntary working theatre of its kind in Panama. We provide a training ground for the future performers and technicians in the theatre arts, a place for everyone to exercise their creative muscles, and a place for those who seek quality theatre in the English language, to enjoy. It is our intention to provide a creative venue for all.

El T.G.A. es el único teatro en Panamá que funciona gracias al trabajo de voluntarios. Ofrecemos un un espacio de formación para futuros interpretes y técnicos teatrales, un espacio para que todxs ejerciten sus músculos creativos, y un espacio para quienes buscan disfrutar de teatro de calidad en el idioma Inglés. Es nuestra intención proveer un espacio creativo para todxs.
